Connemara ... but my actual destination was the Connemara region, in the far west of Ireland, close to Galway. I wanted to go there for two reasons: first because it's well-known for its beautiful landscape, its fjords and its cliffs; and second because once I wanted to stand on the far west coast of Europe, looking out west-ward and knowing that now there would be only water, for 5000 km, all the way to America. |
